This was not as exciting as I thought but I found all the historical details very interesting, especially because I'm very much intrigued by this subject. Some things could have been easily cut away and get the same result, but the ending was really good.

As a partial history of the Ottoman Empire's expansion into Eastern Europe and a study of the historical figure Vlad the Impaler, this book was pretty interesting; as a vampire tale though, it was LAME. And at over 600 pages, what a long, lame trip it was.
