Yaaaay!! So much fun! I knew I liked fantasy when it's done like this! Totally reminds me of when I was a kid and would just read for hours totally spellbound. And the perfect book to read during the stressful time of moving. Going to save the 2nd book for when I go to the beach in June. Or can I wait that long?

I hadn't meant to read this before the start of a group read, that starts in April, but once I read the first chapter, I just couldn't stop thinking about the book, then I had to finish it. I will say at this point, this first book in a trilogy is even better than her Vorkosigan saga, if you can believe it.

This is the first non-mystery book (or non-graphic novel) I've read in a long time that I haven't been able to put down. I've read a good many books recently that have been educational and/or technically well written but I'd lost a bit of that reading 'spark' that would make me keep my nose in a book wherever I went -- whether it be on the bus, to the loo, or to the kitchen for a drink of water. This book reignited that spark.
