It's a certain kind of hell, confessing your most humiliating sexual secrets to a room full of hairy middle-aged men.
I just couldn't get into this.
I get that it's a parody, and maybe if I lived in Manhattan and worked in publishing and cared about superficial appearances, I would find it interesting. But I don't, and I don't and I don't, so I don't.

This book started off meh for me, but I am glad that I stuck with it. It's a cautionary tale based to some extent on the author's own experience while attending a private school not far from where I live in PA. I'm fairly certain that what happened to this girl happens to many girls. I applaud the author for her bravery in writing this book.

For you who expected another Gone Girl-ish book, prepare to be disappointed!! The narrator, instead of being unreliable and mysterious, just being simply annoying. The plot did not go smoothly, and the ending is just... lazy. Too many things tried to be covered here but the way the issues been discussed is just very bland. Too bad!
Read for book club. I think it will be an interesting discussion. At the beginning I was really curious what had happened to her in high school and I did not predict the full extent. The rest of the book was pretty predictable, though. Overall, enjoyable.
