This was really enjoyable, I enjoyed the spin on Sherlock Holmes and Watson, and I liked the suggestion of possible future romance.
I thought the "scarlet women" would be a house of prostitution, but instead it's women who have been "ruined" in the eyes of society by being caught in flagrante delicto, more or less, with another man.
The final big reveal was a lot darker than I expected. CW for child abuse/rape. In a book that's mostly light and fluffy, that really took me by surprise.

I like the Sherlock Holmes stories as much as the next person, and have enjoyed a good deal of the various pastiches, films, TV versions, and various re-imaginings. So when I was looking for a light read and heard good things about this series, I thought I'd give it a try.

I'm not a big fan of the Sherlock Holmes or the spin offs there from but Charlotte Holmes, a purported daughter of the famous detective , is quite an engaging young lady.

Very good -- 4.5/B+ -- now listening to the 2nd in series!
This book was fun and I enjoyed a fresh and feminist spin on Sherlock but it didn't have quite the punch that the originals do. That made it a little disappointing but overall I did enjoy it.

Wonderful! I liked the homage to Sherlock Holmes, but loved the updated characters and new twists even more! Good mystery, compelling characters, with a smidge of romance thrown in.
