Decent thriller read. The story is not as good as the one in The Kind Worth Killing. The very end of the book was terrible since I did not find it realistic at all.
Otherwise, the book starts off very well. A woman who has been a prior victim of boyfriend abuse decides to swap her UK apartment with her cousin who lives in the US. I'm slightly disappointed with this book, having loved The Kind Worth Killing by the same author. It doesn't even feel like it was written by the same person.
This is more thriller than mystery: you know from early on the identity of the killer; the suspense comes from the danger our main character is in. But a lot of what happens is implausible. Without giving too much away, the main character Kate suffers from PTSD and some pretty gnarly anxiety. Yet she becomes friends with a fairly ...more
