I really enjoyed this book, finding it both sad and very funny, at times. The story centers around Judd, a radio producer, and his dysfunctional family who sit shiva after his father dies.
Tropper does a great job of letting the reader know each of the characters in Judd's family, even though the book is really all about Judd and his troubled personal life. The book's ending also satisfied me, which is no easy feat, but some readers might have had different expectations, and understandably so.

I liked the story ok but it was super crass, unnecessarily. Well written.
I read this right after a similar experience and it was entertaining and relatable in that regard. However, I feel like the main character had very little character growth and that kind of annoyed me. I don't know if there was really a "right" thing for him to do but it wasn't clear to me that he had actually learned much from spending that week with his family. If that's the case, then what was the point? I kind of felt like all of the family was like that in a way. The only one to really have

This was good.
I loved this book! Funny, poignant, mischevious, not for the faint of heart. Really, really good! Read it! It is the first book of his I have read, definitely won't be the last :)

I liked this book a lot, even though I thought the humor was crude at times. It felt really real, and you were really able to get in the main character's head, and see the world through his eyes. I laughed out loud a lot while reading it.
