It took Stephen King over 30 years to write the sequel to The Shining, and he does it with great pizzazz with Doctor Sleep. Is this book a literary classic? No. Is some of it over the top but represents classic King? Yes. Did I look forward to every free moment that I had to pick up this book and read it? Yes, indeed. I had such a blast reading this book, which kept me at the edge of my seat.

He's clearly still the same character, though, I think just all kids getting older and making bad decisions makes me feel icky.

Stephen King can tell a kickass story. I liked this even better than The Shining.

Not having read The Shining, I'm sure I didn't get the full impact of this one since the characters were all new to me, but King is certainly one of the masters of terror.
