Naked in Death is absolutely fantastic - both a great romance and a wonderful murder mystery. I'm really looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series and seeing the relationship between Eve and Roarke progress and continue to develop; they are both fantastic characters and complement one another very well. Definitely one of my favorite books by Nora Roberts so far, if not my favorite - it's hard to decide, because she does have some really great ones. Is automatically going on ...more

3.5 stars. I had a lot of trouble getting into this book. I wondered why so many people loved it and why there were so many books in the series. Halfway through, I still thought, "well, at least this won't be one more series on my list." I have issues with Roarke - he reminds me of Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights and I never understood the appeal of him either. But, I soldiered on; I was dying to know who the perp was.

And finally, I became engrossed. And I started to like Roarke (although the

I really liked this! It is totally deserving of all the hype. Eve is fabulous, she's no shrinking violet and I can definitely see what attracted Roarke to her. Roarke. Oh Roarke. He is definitely deserving of the hype! Roarke is yummy! Mysterious. Intelligent. Rich. Gorgeous. And I can't wait to read more of him! He is a great hero! I like he futuristic elements a lot. They're well thought out and Robb doesn't beat you over the head with them. They flow naturally. The suspense plot was good. It ...more

Excellent read! I like the futuristic element, mixed with good ole fashion crime drama and romance...what a mix! The series starts Eve Dallas off with one hell of a sick case. I truly enjoyed the minor characters like Charles, who calls her Officer Sugar and the little old lady downstairs whose baking I would avoid at all costs, lol. Also love the budding relationship with Roark, as mentioned previously He Is HOT!! One of my favorite series. Highly recommended.

I belong to a couple of reading challenges here at Goodreads and one of the summer tasks was to read two books by an author who writes under two names. I chose Nora Roberts and JD Robb. JD Robb is the name that Roberts uses to write her mystery series.

Naked in Death is the first in a long series by Robb/Roberts and it was the first that I've read by Robb. The writing was similar to Roberts' romance novels. Simplistic and predictable but still readable. I didn't love the book but I will most like

Eve Dallas is a cop, sometime in the future, and she is assigned to a series of murders involving licensed prostitutes. Eve becomes involved with one of the prime suspects, Roarke. I liked the futuristic aspects and the mystery parts. There was a bit too much romance for a mystery novle for my taste though I do think I'll continue the series. ...more

I loved this book! I had it sitting on my TBR shelf for ages, and never picked it up because it was set in the future, and I am not that much into futuristic stories. However, it was great, and I will definitely read the rest of this series.
