This followup to The Lies of Locke Lamora was very entertaining, although it perhaps suffers a little bit from being too much like the first book. The capers aren't quite as satisfying, and while Lynch tries again to alternate flashbacks with the current narrative, it's not as effective this time. For once I'm not annoyed that I have to wait for the unpublished sequels, even though this book ends on a cliffhanger of sorts, because this feels like a series that will benefit from a gap of a year o

An excellent continuation in the series. I love these characters, and Lynch's writing is just fantastic.

Excellent book. Of course it isn't as good as the first one but what second book is? The action is a bit tamer I think and the plot is a bit more disjointed. He did finally figure out how to make those flashbacks make sense: label them! But the end brought tears to my eyes.
