I mostly like this series. However, I'm certainly not a die hard "Dresdenite" from the Church of Harry. Dresden is NOT my literary BFF and, truth be told, spends far more time languishing under the heading OAA (Occasionally Annoying Acquaintance). I like the stories (so far), but that enjoyment comes with some mondo qualifications and some serious groans. These Dresden books by Jim Butcher are getting better and better for me. This was my favorite so far. Loved the ending ... a satisfying wrap up with a dark portent at the very end that left me excited to read the next one. I think Butcher does a great job of building upon (and mercilessly twisting) the characters, relationships and events of the previous books to create a work that is captivating to the reader (well ... this reader anyway). I really like this series.
I read a lot of Young Adult literature for my job and it's really nice to be able to pick up a Harry Dresden novel once in a while to remind me that there's a more adult side to the reading world.
This novel follows the Kights of The Cross as they are searching for the Shroud of Turin. There's also a plot line which includes Harry and the continuing war with the Red Court, teh worst of the vampires. And on top of it all, the love of his life, Susan, returns to say a fin ...more

Really like 3.66 stars. This one has fallen angels, the Shroud of Turin and vampires. Fun story with a better than usual end for this series.
