i think this is a good read if you arent sure what to read next. that is, if you dont have something that you REALLY want to read next, i think you will enjoy this book. also, i think that you will further enjoy this book if you read it in a week or so, that way you dont drag the plot further than it was intended.

i have mixed opinions of Gaiman's works. i love his work in The Sandman graphic novels, i love Stardust, i liked American Gods alright, and i liked this book. because i took more time t

This book is about a man, Richard, who moves to London from Scotland, and who by all accounts leads a rather ordinary life, an all around nice guy. I thoroughly enjoyed this read. Interesting concept. I really didn't care for Richard. He was a major wiener that whined and cried at every drop of the hat. I realize that he was put in a terrible position but sometimes you just have to say "I'm bigger than this". I must say I am glad it ended the way it did. Door was a good character and the Marquis was great. I truly liked Vandemar and Croup. Now, those are some seriously bad boys! ...more

This time around I listened to th Author's Preferred Text
I need to check my paper copy to see the differences but the story does seem to have a bit more flesh on it than I remembered.
I also liked that How The Marquise got His Coat Back was included. Neil Gaiman said he wants to visit this world again for " a longer visit" so I'm hoping a new novel will be out someday.
