I loved Good in Bed but I struggled with this one. Cannie was so subdued & Joy such a spoiled brat. I put it down nearly every time it was Joy's turn to narrate. Then the surprise & the non-surprise moved me unexpectedly.
There were beautiful moments of grace & forgiveness & happily Joy did grow as a person.

I'm not sure how I missed this book when it first came out. It reached my heart on many levels.The family dynamics were difficult at times but real-each character was true to themself. I was surprised by a few of the endings. I was reminded of my own teenage angst and smiled knowing I survived the turmoil.
