The BDSM element is pretty light in this - a bit of capture/prisoner kink. This is mainly the story of Frank, a middle-aged guy who lost his partner and has resigned himself to being a spectator in the games of sex and love around him. He runs The Market Garden, which provides a home base, and hopefully a bit of a safety net, for gay rent-boys.

This story seemed a bit different than the other Market Garden books. Well, the obvious is that it was a full-length book. Though it is chalked full of sex scenes, I did expect two things that to me seemed lacking. First, I expected it to be more emotional than it was due to the subject matter. Second, I expected more chemistry than I was feeling. It actually is more of a sweet love story than the high chemistry filled stories of Market Garden. It's not bad, just not great, ...more

I really enjoyed the bit of a twist this story takes in relation to the previous books. While one of the main issues here is pretty heavy, I liked how realistic it made things. When these guys are in the same room, the temperature rises. I had no trouble at all feeling the emotion from Frank and absolutely loved how his friends were there for him.
Stephan/Brandon was quite interesting as well. Having the different sides come out to play was exciting. I imagine Stephan will be making mor ...more

Just read this for the second time, and it keeps getting better. The heat coming off the pages is incinerating, but it's more than that. It's a deeply emotional rollercoaster ride, well written, with characters that feel as alive as if they lived next door. Definitely the best Market Garden yet.

This one blind-sided me. I did not expect this to be such a heart-wrenching and heart-warming story. Can I just say how much I loved how sane and reasonable both main characters were? Made me fall hard for this book. :) Capture and surrender indeed!

Into camo, face masks, rentboys, Domination, military kink and... paintball? If so than you don't want to miss this book if for no other reason than the paintball scenes are hot. H.O.T. For more than that, you are just going to have to read this book... I would hate to spoil it for you !!!

Ok, this one is my favorite. I fell in love with Frank. This story revolves around the life of the owner of Market Garden and his new Rentboy, Brandon/Stefan (the American). I loved the introduction of Geoff, Mike and Emily. We learned more about Raoul the bartender and got a glimpse of Nick, Tristan and Jared.
The story starts with Nick retiring and Raoul bringing in Stefan. He is the buzz cut military boy from the US that leaves America for reasons that end up binding Frank and Stefan for life ...more

I've loved every book in this series, but this one hits a new high - I wish I could give more than 5 stars.
The writing was as good as ever and the characters equally rounded and interesting as those in the previous books, but this time the overall effect was just stunning. I loved that Frank was older, still fit but not pretty or beautiful the way the rentboys are. And he and Stefan together? Very, very hot!
This has to be one of my favourite books from either author - one that I will be re-readi ...more
