Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton is a book that was first published in 1993, and is considered to be an early example of urban fantasy. As I read this book I had to keep that in mind. There were times that I felt engaged with the plot and connected to the characters, however I also had moments when all I could do was roll my eyes at the complete nonsense of the writing.
