What usually happens with a series I end up loving is that I seriously fall head over heels for it by the third book. That's happened more times than I can remember, that third time is a charm that really lures me in. Sadly that's not the case yet with the Night Huntress series - I'm still finding the series hard to put down once I've picked the book up, but not in love with what I'm reading. It must just be that call of a series, where I keep reading because I'm into some parts of it, hoping th ...more
Another fantastic book in ever growing fantastic series.
Spike ;) I mean Bones is just as perfect as ever.

James Marsters is MY Bones.
I could gush about Jeaniene Frosts Night Huntress books. They just get better and better. At Grave's End delivers as promised, it is intense, action packed. HOT! Humor filled, and heartbreaking. It didn't disappoint. We get to meet some great and not so great figures of importance. (view spoiler). ...more

3.5 stars. This book just wasn't as much fun as the previous books. Prepping for war was much waiting around. I'm not a huge fan of love triangles, cheap gimmicks and an unknown traitor, so it was more these plot themes than anything else.
Likes:
* Half vampire, Cat known as The Red Reaper
* Bones/Crispin's accent (think Spike)
* Bones and Cat's sassy dialogue
* Kitten

This is a reread of the 3rd in the series - A Night Huntress. Cat and Bones are working with the government agency that takes out vampires. The agency allows Bones to work with them because he has so much power and he believes there are bad vampires who need to be ended.
Even disguised, Cat is recognized as the Red Reaper, are her bait days over? Tate, one of her team members has loved her since she first started with the agency. He volunteers to be made a vampire. Both Cat and Bones tell him if ...more

There is always a lot going on in Cat's life and Bones is never far from her side and yet she is still kidnapped by her hated vampire father. On another front, someone from Bones' past returns with deadly intent. This is a roller-coaster ride of emotions for both Cat and Bones. I enjoyed this installment and anxiously await the next.
