Cormac McCarthy's writing style could generously be called "sparse." There is a minimum of proper noun usage, punctuation, and any other "silly little marks" as he is wont to say. This provides for an unfamiliar cadence but never subtracts from the pulse-pounding effect of the most important component of any novel: a story with heart.

The book was all right until the ending which I didn't like at all - it was just too pat and easy.

I don't know what all the hype is about. It was boring and predictable. I guess after all of the post-apocalyptic shows and stories out already, this one just didn't offer anything different.
