5 stars really doesn't give this book justice. Mr. Sanderson please take all the stars.
I did not want this book to end, hence the length of time it took for me to actually read it. I slowly savoured each chapter, page, paragraph, sentence, word...this was more then just a story, this was a connection, a forever with you always connection.
Thank you Brandon Sanderson for creating this world and these people. You made me smile, cry, love, hate. So many emotions, a sign of ...more

Welp. I take back every negative thing I thought or said about this book. Like the first Mistborn book, I just had to be in the right mindset to get past the beginning of things into the good stuff. I forget that with Sanderson's books, it takes a bit to get the world and magic system described enough for me to be engaged. For some reason, the first three times I tried to listen to this book, I just couldn't visualize things well enough. I made up my mind to try one more time because I want to r

I picked this up because the author will be at an upcoming Dragon*Con I'll be attending and had rave reviews on the website. After sluggishly making my way through the first 1/4 of the book I've decided not to give it my time any longer.
The plot drew me in and the characters are intriguing but the dialogue is choppy and the author introduces too much too quickly and without proper backstory/introduction, in the way of myth, history and culture of the peoples we're reading about. It gets a littl ...more
