It has been a while since I have enjoyed a book this much. It was an easy none stop ready but at the same time I cannot say that the book was simple. There were many underlying themes that were addressed, and while the author did not go into detail discussing those themes they were present none the less.

Read this based on the review of the first ever Guyscanread podcast.
Have to admit am struggling through it... I know this is one of "the" sci fi books to read - but it's not holding my attention and I'm 80% of the way through.
Update-
Finished the book - wow what a mind job.... I guess I should have seen the ending coming - but I didn't. This is one of those books that when you finish you realize its a good book - but you're not sure what to think of it.
I can see why its in the sci-fi cannon. ...more

Ender gives us an insightful look at military training of the future and examines questions of "just war" and the justification for genocide. The novel works best at using the mechanics of psychological manipulation and control to advance the plot.
