What Members Thought
My goodness but I'm enjoying the prolific output of Mr Tchaikovsky. Every book is a new and very different treat, with the same full and complex cast of interesting characters.
I thoroughly enjoyed this musket and ball room adventure. A dark look at war, and patriarchy.
I really hope he writes more books in this world.
Oh and how could i forget, it's narrated by EMMA NEWMAN!!!! I love her work, and her voice. She was absolutely PERFECT.

I went into this expecting a light story of the gunpowder fantasy variety, some royalty, some duels, maybe a couple of dances. I did not expect the sticky oppressing trek through the swamp while having to weight moral questions about sending others to their death. Is it worth it to keep your word if it means others will die? Does the life of someone you care about worth more than the lives of those whose names you do not know? And what right does one person have to make the decision who is worth
