This book is an interesting story of tape worms, biomedical engineering, and corporate insanity. It is told from the perspective of a woman who survived a terrible car crash thanks to the bio-engineered tape worm inside of her. Unfortunately she lost all of her memories, is surrounded by people who act like they own her, and is on the edge of mental instability. To make things worse, there is a growing outbreak of "sleepwalking" that no one understands.

Things I rarely say: "This book could have been shorter."
I mean, I liked it. It's (so far) my fave pick for the 2014 Hugo novels (though I haven't read them all yet). But... it was still a bit long.
Also, I'm confused by the pacing. Is it meant to be a fast-read freak-out thriller? Or a leisurely stroll through doomsville? ...more

I didn't think this was as good as her zombie series. Sarah, the main character, wasn't that interesting. Neither was her boyfriend. I didn't care much about them.
