Considered as Huxley’s swan lake - this book is an amazing encompass of his entire writer history. In a great way he captures both the idealistic beautiful romantic side of a unique place on earth but keeps it as realistic as possible in the same time. Huxley masterfully criticizes and glorifies this place without revealing which ‘side’ he is on. The influence if his later wife - a psychologist - to whom the book is also devoted - is sensed all around the book. I enjoyed slowly reading this book ...more
