As he begins to make moves to ensure their love blossoms, he realizes no weeds are too difficult to pull out. And in the age of social media, who can resist the shiny, helpful keys of Facebook and Twitter? Not he.

Trigger warnings for adultery, steamy scenes, manipulation, girl hate, fat shaming, drinking, derogatory terms towards women, excessive profanity, injury, homophobia, derogatory slurs, drug use, racism, assault, and a suicide attempt.

Calculated, obsessive Joe was nothing short of a monster. It was horrifyingly fascinating to watch to the judgemental, narcissistic man descended level after level of disturbing, and never recognize his own delusion. Yet I'm truly shuttering at/left wondering how in the hell, if even for only a few seconds, he made his creepy, invasive, actions seem almost human?!

From despicable former lovers to obnoxious friends, from strained family to former bosses, to all those who got caught in the crossfire, people were no longer merely people to Joe. Sure none of these souls were lovable, not even the flirtatious, ultimately shallow Beck. But what in the world did they all do to deserve to become disposable pawns in Joe's quest for love? I'll let you discover those unsettling reasons at your own leisure.

You know with the amount of splash YOU made within the media, I'd of been ready for how messed up this was, but I wasn't. It finds it's stride as Joe's quiet, frantic logic craws under your skin, as he spills his dark plans to YOU (Beck), alongside the reader. A bit repetitive, YOU's storytelling relied on its ability to upset you, but Caroline Kepnes is a master of fictionalizing feelings in a realistic fashion. Uncomfortable, this story highlights just how our online vulnerability can easily be weaponized. After YOU ended the way it did, picking up book two is a necessity.
