This book is set in an alternative time, where dragons were discovered as real and shifters in the 1970s, starting a human/dragon war that has left the dragon population (all male) relatively unchanged and the human population less billions, with most females dead. In this strange world, a dragon shifter can impregnant his male mate and cause the mate's body to be able to bear and have a child.

I really like this story. I really didn't want it to finished so quickly. I really wanted more. I would have liked learn more on the dragon culture/society and hope that we will get more of that in this new series. ...more

I really liked the premise for this book, but the writing style felt a bit too simplistic and failed to really evoke the emotions and feelings for me to get fully engrossed in it. I enjoyed all three main characters, but grew a little weary of both the self-doubts x 3 ("really, you think I'm hot?", "you can't love me") and use of endearments (my big dragon, my little baby, etc.).
