This book (and the subsequent series) are often referred to as science fiction's Lord of the Rings. I guess in terms of impact, that's possible. But if there is a fantasy counterpart of the Dune books, it would probably be GRR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series, what with competing political families, intrigue, treachery, plot and deception.

Actually, I want to give this book 3.5 stars, but since I can't, I rather give 4 than 3. This book tell us the story about how a boy, named Paul Atreides, did and felt when his life changed drastically, from noble to common to "God". All of that force him to life in different kind of place (hm maybe different people is more suitable).
