This is my first read of Sanderson’s books. Most of my friends are big fans of his work and one in particular recommended the Mistborn to me more than once, so I decided to go for it finally and I can say I loved it.
When there is so much talk about a book you will have high expectations from it and I’m happy it fulfilled all of them.

This was my first book by Brandon Sanderson.
It was the start of a long lasting love. :)
Since I've read this in 2010 I've read every book by Sanderson, I could get my hands on. By now I buy everything he writes without even glancing at the blurb. I simply know that I'll love it, even if it isn't my usual genre. (I don't know if I'd even have glanced at steelheart, if it wasn't for the author.)
And I've never regretted it.

This book could have been cut at least fifty pages about 60% into the book.

Thank you #MistbornMondays. Wow. I mean, I loved this book so much. The worldbuilding is phenomenal, and it has a satisfying ending. It managed to shock me, educate me and leave me wanting more. Recommended to everyone!

I wanted to try Sanderson ever since I read that he would complete WOT. Now I can see that the style is totally different. And I dunno why but I'd like to call this sci-fi fantasy, yes nothing sci-fi about it except for this feeling I got. That this is not a fantasy world, it could just be a world out there. But that is just me and perhaps it was all the metal magic.

The Final Empire is a very original, and engaging novel. It's plainly written, though that is probably a good thing considering it's complexity. and while a great deal of time is spent on world building that is vivid and believable, there is plenty here to satisfy a wide audience.
The Final Empire's strength is it's characters and it's magic. Strong, multi-layered, and framed away from the stories plot, each person feels real. They exist despite the story, they would exist without it, and that's ...more

WOW! What an incredibly complex and invigorating story. The world, the power, the characters were really something. Just... WOW. Will need to read book two soon - tricksy teaser chapter at the end!
