I give up. I fuckin' give up.

After four weeks of struggling through this book, I've decided life is too short.

How it ever became a beloved classic is beyond me.

I tried so hard: I trudge, trudged, and trudged through the pages, laden with Tolkien's flowery prose and bogged down in descriptions and details. It was painful. Very painful.

I did watch the movies years ago and loved them much.

I enjoyed reading the Hobbit... it was smooth sailing.

Perhaps, I'd try the audio book (I'm I not merciful?)
