my book bucket list: #55 of 132*
very specific rating for a book that left me with a very specific feeling.
lots of tabbing, recurring themes, food for thought. i really like gothic horror(?) and this is probably a more subtle example of this genre, diving into a specific character and the horrors within. essential reading here. i only don't give it a four because it drags at points.
also i had lots of fun with this specific edition, which had many notes on the historical context of Wilde ...more

I really liked this book. This particular edition included a number of contemporaneous reviews and all were scornful. I thought it was brilliant. Certainly the characters are deserving of contempt, but the book is wonderful in its satire and moral commentary. I won't ever forget this one, and will likely re-read it someday.

creepy book , i really don't know why will someone want to be the same way forever that's just boring and stupid .
I thought Dorian was very shallow , the story was very slow and has a lot of details (that have nothing to do with the main subject) .
I don't actually like to write reviews about books i didn't like that much .
Maybe if i matured a little more , got another perspective of life in the future i'll re-read it and like it more .
