I really liked this book. This particular edition included a number of contemporaneous reviews and all were scornful. I thought it was brilliant. Certainly the characters are deserving of contempt, but the book is wonderful in its satire and moral commentary. I won't ever forget this one, and will likely re-read it someday. ...more

I love the ability that Wilde to provide amazing descriptions that allowed me to feel exactly what the character felt. The book took me a while to get into, but once the story picked up it was good.

This story is about Dorian Gray and how changes into a cruel, corrupt & selfish encouraged by his "friend" Lord Henry and how society chooses not to believe that he posses these qualities simply because he is extremely handsome, comes from a respected family and is wealthy.
