What Members Thought

I loved loved loved this book. Much of it has to do with it being the right book at the right time: been having trouble getting absorbed by a book lately and I've been yearning for some non-traditional sf. This fits the bill. There's no Big Story, just people living their lives in a series of vignettes starring the title character and people in New York and on Mars related, some fairly tangentially, to him. I found this really disappointing, considering I really liked McHugh's collection of short stories that I had read, AND, the fact that it was either nominated (or won) the Hugo. I felt the book didn't go anywhere, but was a series of vignettes about different people.
