Shelves: fantasy

I was disappointed in this book. While all right, it wasn't nearly as good as I had hoped it would be. I was hoping for more of a focus on Arthur rather than Lancelot, who took the lead for most of the book. Part of my trouble was also that the author was clearly pushing for the reader to have empathy for Guenever, which was difficult considering how she was completely nuts. ...more

Shelves: audible, favorites, sff

One of the few books to make by favorites shelf without earning 5 stars. It drags on at times and is uneven, but it provokes thought, dives deep, and presents characters who are wonderful and flawed and real. I wish it were tighter, but its strong points weigh much heavier than its weak ones.
