Liked this better than The Handmaid's Tale and actually more relevant to where the world is going now. I however feel the book needs more meat and deserve a more conclusive ending (Yes I know there's a sequel but still) ...more

I regret not having read Butler until now. I identified with Lauren's philosophies a great deal. I wish I had been half as thoughtful and practical as Lauren when I was 18. Lynne Thigpen's narration is amazing.

During this terrible time in my lifetime (2020, COVID-19, and the Sh*tshow of 45 for 4 years), it was hard to get through some of this, knowing just how prescient Butler was, and I know it's even more so in the sequel), it gave me a small sliver of hope that we can recover
