Well that was a lovely welcome back to the series. It's been a few years, between book 5 and 6 for me...Why did I wait so long?
I liked Cormia a lot. I can't wait for more John. And dude shit's getting real now in this world. ...more

What a disappointment. It seems as if Ward didn't know what to do with the book so she decided to give all the Brothers temporary lobotomies so they behaved like strangers instead of the men we’ve met in previous books.
For all their talk of ‘brotherhood’, none of the brothers gave Phury any support, advice or help (Z has tried but he obviously had bigger issues going on.) If somebody you care about has a substance abuse problem, is your first instinct to throw him to the curb? Wouldn't you try t ...more

Another angsty brother! This book had it's moments but mostly it dragged. It felt very repetitive at times.
Things are changing in the lessening society again, now the Omega has a son. There are some huge holy hell type revelations this go around. I am a bug fan of a certain fallen angel who joins their ranks!
I am not a fan of the whole upper crust vampire world. It kinda acts counter productive to Wrath as king. And the whole snobbery is a ...more

Wow. This installment is jam-packed with heart wrenching stuff. Talk about a long and winding road to my HEA. ;) Just a few vague points that I'm happy about. Of course the ending for Phury and Cormia was great. Finding Thor was awesome! I always new he'd come back. Or at least, have a place in the series again. The angel was a cool addition. I look forward to seeing him again. JM, Blay, & Quinn were also a great storyline and I look forward to their future issues. I'm a bit bummed about Lash, b

This story is at the top of my list for in this series. I loved the overall story and that is where the 5 stars come from. J.R Ward has built this world and characters that I continue to fall in love with. And the world continues to have more and more added layers along the way.
Phury and Cormia are the couple that gets most of the focus, but that paled in comparison to everything else that was going on between these pages.

3.5 stars. Phury volunteered to be the Primale of the species to create more Brotherhood warriors by procreating with all the Scribe Virgin's Chosen. Another dark tale of lust and love, but with some important plot advances. Not sure what I can say without giving away spoilers, so I will just document in my Black Dagger Brotherhood summary below and forego my normal Likes & Dislikes lists.

Reread July 2018
If J.R. Ward wasn't so good at intertwining various stories into her books, I probably would have skipped this one as I reread the series. Phury is not my favorite brother. For me, he is very two dimensional and lacks any real character until the very, very end. For her part, Cormia feels like a throw away character...not interesting enough to weave into future or past stories, but necessary for this story. There is enough going on with other characters that this story holds my i ...more
