This is the second book in Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series and I loved it!
This book picks up from where the last one left off. Meghan is now in the winter court brought there by the winter prince she loves, Ash, as per their deal in the first book. Meghan is left alone in the place with Ash no where to be found. She doesn't know anybody there and is afraid of Ash's mother, Queen Mab. When Ash comes back he is cold to Meghan and acts like he doesn't have feelings for her which hurt her. This story ...more

I liked this book. It was nice to see Megan progress a little more, awakening her own strength. Though she is stubborn, she sends entirely too much time thinking about Ash and Puck. I know this is a teen romance novel, but I prefer strong female characters. I'm hoping she will grow as the series goes on and it will be more about the adventure and less about this Ash vs. Puck dilemma.

Meghan is at the Winter Court nursing her broken heart when the scepter is stolen and she decides to go after it (with some help of course). This time around there is a lot more teenage angst to deal with.
What I enjoyed:
* Ironhorse
* Leanansidhe
* Grimalkin. He is playing his own game by his own rules, like most cats.
What could have been better:
* Love triangles suck, somehow they are even more angsty in YA novels.
* Meghan was a doormat for most of this book.

I greatly enjoyed reading The Iron King, but The Iron Daughter was so much more enjoyable! I don't know if it's because I know more of the characters and the world, but I was much more invested in the story this time. If you've read the first book you should definitely read this one. Recommended to fans of young adult fantasy.
