2 stars. This was really annoying. I know this is just the first book in a long series so I'm not going to be too harsh but this was really tough to get through.
Oh, boy, this was a struggle. The main character, Mac, is annoying as hell. She's vain, vapid and shallow. Her voice was immature and she didn't read like a 22 year old at all to me. She was also extremely underdeveloped. Also a lot of her references made this book feel so incredibly dated and it ended up feeling contrived.

It wasn't really my choice to read this. For one of my many reading challenges, I was to use the GR recommendations tool and add a genre that I didn't read, and select a book from that particular listopia. I chose the paranormal genre. I didn't like any of the titles, or story lines. But this one was a little appealing. I began it, reluctantly. Within 24 hours, I devoured it. I couldn't put it down. And now I'm placing the second title of the series on hold at my library. WHO KNEW? It's crazy th
