I heart Harry. I heart him so hard.

MUCH happier with this one that the last one. I didn't like his love interest at all--weak, stubborn, stupid and irritating--but she's great in this one. The pace is fast, the story interesting and it was difficult to put down.

I would have given this 5 stars if it hadn't been for the major religious aspect of the entire story. Unfortunately if this series goes totally in that direction I will be done with it. With that said, I really liked this book. As usual, Harry Dresden has all kinds of people and creatures after him...again. Between the vampires trying to kill him, the demons trying to recruit him and the Chicago mob boss somehow involved, Harry definitely had his hands full. It's a race against the clock with th

Another fun book in the Harry Dresden series. This time Harry is recruited by a priest to find the shroud of Turin which has been stolen and brought to Chicago. He's also challenged to a duel by a vampire, facing off with demons and dealing with the return to town of his former girlfriend Susan. I enjoy the humor in theses books along with the continuing development of Harry and all of his friends. After the last book it was nice to take a break from the world of faeries.

I always love Harry, but this one dragged a bit for me. Loved seeing Susan again, wish they could be more!

4.5 stars. The book synopsis sums up this book. Susan is back, Harry is trying to find the Shroud of Turin, assassins are trying to kill him and he is challenged to a duel by a Count Ortega, vampire of the Red Court.
It was wonderful to meet all the Knights of the Cross, Russian Sanya and Japanese Shiro besides Harry's best friend, Michael Carpenter. Though Charity, Michael's wife is still not much of a fan of Harry's, Michael's daughter, Molly, and Harry had a couple of nice moments. I love that ...more

I am really liking this series, but I don't think I can listen to these books on audio. They throw too much information at me and I find that I keep missing stuff, so I may have to actually sit down and read them rather than listen. This story was excellent of course, but what I keep thinking while I read this book is that they should take this whole series and reverse all the genders. Harry should be a girl and Susan and Murphy should be guys. And she should be played by Jennifer Lawrence. I th
