In the second book of this series, Harry Dresden is up against a hoard of rabid werewolves in various forms. I wanted to move on from the first of the series because I have had several people say that they do get better and better (although that's not to say I didn't enjoy number 1), but I think I was less impressed with this one. I just found it annoying how yet again, Murphy assumes Dresden is involved with the murders and yet again she is trying to arrest him, and yet again he is escaping out

I enjoyed this book much more than the first one in the series, in part because James Marsters does a nice job with the narration on the audio version and also I've realized that this is one of those series where you just have to sit back and accept the plot holes and inconsistencies. I didn’t like this book as much as the first. It was a bit convoluted for me. I missed Murphy since she wasn’t a huge part of the story and Bob, because who doesn’t love a spirit inside a skull! The basis of the werewolf story worked for me, but the execution was off. I will say, though, the last chapters were excellent…loved seeing Harry in his magical element!

I think the first book in this series was better. This wasn't a bad book in any way, I'm just not a big fantasy fan.
