It was a romance. It was a mystery. Neither done particularly well. It’s as if the author couldn’t focus so ended up treating each of these superficially. The romance was not particularly compelling, described as a series of montages. The mystery was disposed of as if the author just got tired of it. There were moments of interest with the side characters but overall could have been better.
