4 stars. Where book four was heavier on the romance and relationships this one was all action from the very beginning and it was a fun ride. This was definitely the darkest book in the series so far and I loved every single moment.

Pretty entertaining, and I liked the Bloody Bones and fairy element.

I think this is one of the best Anita Blake books so far. Seriously. She moves out of the St. Louis area; we move away from the love triangle BS a little bit; we learn some really important, personal background details about Jean-Claude; there are multiple circles of action and layers of bad guys; Larry is great and Anita is finally almost starting to loosen up with some of her "beliefs." I still get a little sick of Hamilton's analogies in every other sentence, and describing knives or guns or
