I had read a Run Rose Run by James Patterson and Dolly Parton and when I admitted to a reading group that I had never read James Patterson they said I should. I am glad I took their advice. This book was so well written and thought out. Alex Cross is mix of tough, and sweetness. He is a fighter of evil, and injustice. I think he is a great main character. I'm sure I must have read this book years ago, but I didn't remember it. It was a great read - it kept me in suspense and wanting to know what would happen next throughout the whole book! And even now that I've finished it, I'm still not sure what actually happened, who done it, etc.... Great story! ...more

It was an interesting experience to read the first book in the series! James Patterson was one of my favorites authors in High School and I never knew the order of the series so I read them if I thought I would like them.

I liked getting to know Alex Cross! The middle was dragging a bit and I got bored but the ending was amazing!
