I really enjoyed this thriller introducing a complex character, Alex Cross. I liked the core characters in the story and the thriller kept me on the edge of my seat. The complexity of who was the "good guy" and who was the "bad guy" kept me interested in the story. Definitely a great introduction to a character I enjoy reading about in each new episode.

3.5 stars. This was a good read that kept me interested up until the last 1/4. After that I rolled my eyes a lot. There's a good deal of suspense and Patterson's casual easy read writing style helps to move the reader along. Not great fiction but an ok time waster if crime mysteries are your thing.
