It was really nice reading this classic. The descriptive language and atmosphere was so good.

I had high expectations for this one and I think that it suffered for it. I have seen movies at times long after everyone else in the world ... movies which everyone raves about ... and I end up disappointed. I think my reaction to this story is similar to my reaction to those movies. They simply cannot live up to my hopes.

I wasn't scared or spooked. I wasn't shocked. I wasn't fascinated or even intrigued. There was no surprise.

Classic ghost story. Have been wanting to reread this since FOX first aired Sleepy Hollow this season. Boy did those writers take liberties!

I've read this before, but first time listening to the audiobook. The language is cumbersome enough that it trips up the narrative. I would recommend reading it instead. ...more
