Allegorical tale of faith/belief and the choices individuals/groups are forced to make for survival.
While I picked up this book at a young age, taken in by the lovely cover image of a rabbit, I missed a large amount of the book's subtext until I read it again in high school.
While ultimately uplifting, the trials and tribulations that follow a band of rabbits who believe in one young bunny's predictions are quite sad/depressing, although realistic given the world they live in.

A nice novel with a lot of nostalgia for me. I will never get rid of my copy that I got from my grandmother. The reading experience doesn't quite hold up to nostalgia, but it's still a fun ride. ...more
