This story takes off like a high-powered boat dragging a sea anchor (or a mutilated female body) but mysteriously drops it off in the cold depths halfway across this literary lake. From that point on the boat speeds its way to an exciting conclusion, leaving me to wonder afterward what was holding me back and how many of the unknown anchors are resting in the cold dark lake of this story.
