wow. I cant even think of words. I wasn't sure if i would like this book just because of the time era. But when i heard not only was it by by Cassandra Clare but it was a prequel to the mortal instrument series I just knew I had to read it. I had complete faith in Clare to pull it off but she still blew my mind. First of all I found the writing to be just plain wonderful, it was witty and actually made me laugh out loud. In my opinion this book was more mystery than paranormal. After reading it I ended up having more questions than answers.(Which is why I'll have to read the next one.Good writing Ms.Clare.)The characters were more lovable than I thought possible. Will was a complex little thing,Tessa trusted to easy,Jem's a sweetheart, and Charlotte and Henry were adorable. The plot was reasonable and well thought out and I'm looking forward to reading more. ...more

Also, I'm Team Will. I don't know, there's something about him I just like. And I don't think Jem has much longer; so Will all the way! Whoo!
