I'll be honest. The first couple of chapters did not work for me. I found that the author opened the book with a scene that was meant to intrigue readers, but for me, it came across as weak and unbelievable. Our smart and respectable heroine, Pippa, walks into The Fallen Angel unescorted and propositions the bookkeeper, Cross to teach her the ways of seduction. Sigh...this took me a while to read. Not because it wasn't good just I'm a terrible reader now. Once again I felt the ending was a bit rushed but all in all I still very much enjoyed this book especially Phillippa.
