A very cute and witty reselling of Cinderella, with sparkling dialogue and intelligent characters as is to be expected from Eloisa James. The novel is a fairy tale, not a historical romance, so my usual nitpicking of history habit is thwarted. Alas.

A bit of a slow start to this book, imo, but I enjoyed the second half & the ending.

The story was, in some ways, not quite what I was expecting which is why I gave it just 3 stars.

Delightfully full of detail! I felt I was right there with Kate and the Price at the ball! An incredibly heartwarming romance!

This is a beautiful and unexpected take on the classic fairy tale. I have only recently discovered this author & genre and really like Eloisa James' characters. I wanted to finish this so badly I stayed up way too late & when I finally gave in to sleep, I made myself wake up early to finish this (& I'lll admit my son was late for school because of it) It was a very sweet story. ...more
