WOW, does not begin to cover my feelings for this book - about this book.

I picked it up, not 100% sure what I was getting myself into...but WOW, it belew me away...I was not prepared for the journey I took, for the story that unfolded before me.

It's an amazing tale, with beautifully written text. Never before have I read a book with as much dialogue, and I thought at first I might not like it, but I could not have been further from the truth...

Before I talk about the book, I have to give Jennifer major props for one of the best "pre sex" scenes I've ever read! Woa! I don't want to give away spoilers, but what "that man" can do - without touching a woman (excuse me while I catch my breath) is out of this world! *fans self so I don't pass out*

I have to admit that I was utterly surprised by how much i liked Seers of Light. When i got approached about reviewing I thought it looked like a cute novel but I did not expect much to be quite honest and I am really glad that I was proven wrong.

Lilian Hunt is part of a world full of unimaginable power and dangers, but when we meet her in the beginning of the novel she has no idea about that and has been trying to live a normal life when strange things start to happen. However *3 & a half stars

I have to admit that I was utterly surprised by how much i liked Seers of Light. When i got approached about reviewing I thought it looked like a cute novel but I did not expect much to be quite honest and I am really glad that I was proven wrong.

Lilian Hunt is part of a world full of unimaginable power and dangers, but when we meet her in the beginning of the novel she has no idea about that and has been trying to live a normal life when strange things start to happen. However, Lilian only gets to find out about the world she belongs to when she is attacked by a vampire in the forest and a man named Christian saves her and claims to be there to “retrieve” her.

Reluctantly and at the same time curious to know more, Lilian goes with him and that’s when she discovers that she has been trying to be normal her whole life when she has been nothing but normal all along.

While I did really enjoy this book I had a hard time warming up to Lilian, there was a point in the story that i actually hated her and her self-righteous behavior. She let herself be influenced by other people’s opinions too easily in lieu of making her own and that really pissed me off. Her behavior was childish and disgusting towards Vampire with a soul, William and more than once I just wanted to beat some sense into her.

She did end up getting a grip and realizing what an a** she was being and even though I ended up dislike her much less by the end of Seers of Light, her previous behavior has definitely stuck with me since I hate any kind of prejudice.

Vampires are the villain du jour in this new series and they are vicious little creatures that made my skin crawl. The society to which Lilly is a part of has been battling these creatures for a long time and they all have endowments that help them in this fight. Seers of Light counts with a cast of great side characters that really give life to the novel.

However, my favorite character in the book was the hero, William. He is just such a sweetheart and prove that you should never judge a person by their race. He is such a tortured soul that struggles to deal with his own nature and how his world sees him and at the same time he is simply a great person that you can’t help but fall in love with. I do admit that I ended up quite enjoying him and Lilly together, too cute for words.

Christian was my least favorite character for most of the novel, he annoyed me so much. But by the end of the novel i did understand his motivations even though i did not agree with them.

All in all Seers of Light was a great surprise for me and a very interesting read. I am really looking forward to the next book, since it will be Christian’s story =)

While I didn't read the reviews in full (I never do, of books that I might read for review later, so as not to influence my experience), I got the message that this book might be something special and unique in the paranormal romance genre.

I found myself liking SEERS OF LIGHT from the very beginning. I had been curious about this novel for a while; several blogs that I read featured reviews that seemed fairly full of praise. While I didn't read the reviews in full (I never do, of books that I might read for review later, so as not to influence my experience), I got the message that this book might be something special and unique in the paranormal romance genre.

First off, Lily is a great character. The beginning of the book reads a little bit YA, but it soon becomes clear that Lily is not a teen. Though still young, she has a more responsible outlook, and was raised by her grandparents. Yes, the dead parents is a trope that is used often in paranormal or fantasy novels, but DeLucy also writes in grandparents that are involved in Lily's life. And, most important, they don't disappear after Lily discovers her new "powers". They show up throughout the book, and offer a good sounding-board for a confused young woman, at times.

Even the relationships that Lily forms between Christian and William go beyond the obligatory and sometimes maddening "love triangle". In fact, DeLucy makes it clear that the triangle isn't really a triangle. Christian's feelings are unrequited by Lily. Now we're talking. A plot that doesn't have the girl torn between two guys? A plot that focuses on Lily, not who will she choose? A plot that allows for Lily to discover the power she wields, and shows her development? It's all there, and I was all the more drawn into the story for it.

SEERS OF LIGHT was a magical tale with a very true-to-life heroine. She laughed, she cried, she loved. Lily was a character that I could relate to on more than one occasion. DeLucy has a great writing style that is accessible, and her novel would appeal to older teens and young adults alike.

This is my favorite book I've read ALL YEAR! IMHO, Seers of Light even beat out Mockingjay. I know it's a shocker! Hmm . . . what can I say about this book without giving away the juicy details you should be reading yourself?

Ana's review for now until I read the book myself: This was such an amazing book!! I couldn’t put it down and I ended up reading it in 2 days!! It had everything a girl would want. It had sympaths, ghosts, spirits, demons, seers, mind readers and of course, vampires! The book is very well written and you will honestly fall in love with all the characters. Lily always knew she was different, but couldn't quite figure it out why. She always felt like something was missing in her life. She told herself that it was because her father had died of cancer when she was a little girl and her mother had disappeared when she was very little. It wasn't until one day she was attached by a vampire (obviously she didn't know it was a vampire) and was saved by a gorgeous British man named Christian that she would soon find out why she always felt that way. Christian then tells her that she’s not safe anymore and that her life was in danger and that she needs to go with him to Atlanta and speak to Abram and that he would explain everything to her. Once they get there, she is greeted by the most kind-hearted and corky people ever. Confused and overwhelmed about everything, she is very eager to speak with Abram. Abram tells her that she is a Pathcrosser and a Sympah and that’s why all her life she has felt different and out of place. He explains to her about their world and the reason for their existence. Abram tells Lily that William (which by the way, I am totally in love with.) is going to be her instructor and that he is going to teach her how to use her powers and how to defend herself. Right away Christian feeling protective over Lily tells her to stay away from William because William is part vampire, but she doesn't understand why she is so drawn to him even if he is supposed to be one of the bad guys. I don’t want to give away any more of the story because I don’t want to ruin it for you, but I will say that this has to be one of the best books I have ever read. The love between William and Lily is something so strong and special it will make your heart melt. Needless to say, I TOTALLY recommend this book.
