Lillian Hunt has never truly lived. Always sensing more to the world than is easily perceived, she fears that her instincts are stubborn flights of fancy, or worse, mental instability. But some things—disappearing strangers, tangible dreams, and visits from malevolent creatures—cannot be ignored. Before it's too late, Lillian is ripped from the only existence she’s ever known and thrust into a reality that she always suspected, but could scarcely believe. She must learn the truth about who she is, the powerful beings that wish to destroy her, and the two men who would die to protect her.

WOW, does not begin to cover my feelings for this book - about this book.

I picked it up, not 100% sure what I was getting myself into...but WOW, it belew me away...I was not prepared for the journey I took, for the story that unfolded before me.

It's an amazing tale, with beautifully written text. Never before have I read a book with as much dialogue, and I thought at first I might not like it, but I could not have been further from the truth...

It's amazing the way that Jennifer DeLucy was able to weave a story like this one...I am still lost in the words! And that epilogue was heartbreaking - as where the last chapters.

This one had me reeling - I mean it's scary...I was bitting my nails and jumping when the thunder hit (lucky me to be reading it during a thunder storm right) which just does NOT happen for me, the last time I read a book that had me truly scared was The Stand, I love the philological thrillers!

Full review to come...I hope, I can get my mind together enough to give you an accurate review! 5 stars does not cut it with this one...it deserves more!

I'm very much surprised by this book since it takes new and different approach into the paranormal world. Lately, most of vampire stories tell that most of them are not truly evil. Here however, vampires are bad - they have no soul. And there is a group of gifted people who are fighting against those vampires and ghosts! Actually ghosts play even a bigger role in this story.

It took me some time to get into the story in the beginning and I was a bit confused that Lilly all over sudden leaves everything including her family behind when she's been attacked and starts learning the truth about herself and her gift. It seems to easy for her to accept her new life. But at the same time, this is exactly Lilly's character, she is strong and brave.

William was the most interesting character, he's very much tortured and full of self loathing and it seems he doesn't quite fit in. Lily breaks down his walls ....

All together the author created very deep and layered characters, specially Lilly, William and Christian. And I truly loved the romantic tension she created.

A refreshing new paranormal romance which is perfect for a Summer read:-)

Wow! This book was so much more than I expected. I didn't think it would be bad, of course, but I never expected the connection between two characters to be sizzling off the pages. Seers of Light is about a young woman, Lillian, who has always struggled with her sense of reality. Things that seem impossible keep coming to her through dreams and visions. She wonders what could be wrong with her and why this is happening now.

One encounter is too real to be a dream and she discovers that she may have more of a purpose than she thought. The first person she meets is Christian who tries to give her only the information that is needed in order to keep her safe. He takes her away from her life in order to guarantee more safety from the creatures now aware of her existence. Lily has so many questions but she is forced to wait till she gets to her new home in order to find out what is going on.

Immediately Lily is surrounded by friendly people who know exactly what she is going through. She slowly pieces together the strange puzzle of her life and begins learning how to deal with her powers. Part of that process includes learning how to protect herself and that brings in William Maddox. Ohhh, William. How I love thee! *mind wonders* .....hmm..oh yeah, anyway, William. He is not like the others because of one major difference. He is essentially the enemy. He's a vampire and Christian refuses to let anyone forget that fact. They have many disagreements and with Lily in the mix, those heat up.

Christian seems like the perfect choice for Lily but something about William makes her heart race. His hotness, maybe? But their chemistry is incredible! Wow! I was floored by a few of their interactions and I'm not sure if I have ever read something with such a romantic, hot and sensual male character. Trust me ladies, you will fall in love! Head..over..heels.

So much happens in this book I can't even begin to get to it all and I want to save it to be a surprise for you as well. I couldn't put this book down. Jennifer's writing is beyond words. She has a way of making characters real without them being over the top, forced, too perfect or too messed up. They were the best possible blend. Even the friends Lily comes to know brought so much to this story. I enjoyed them all! It honestly felt like a wonderful dysfunctional family that you would love to be part of.

Seers of Light is nothing shy of magical. The writing, plot and astonishing characters transport the reader directly into the story. I went through a full range of emotions while reading this book and I know this will be one of my favorite reads of 2011. Bravo Jennifer, I am now your biggest fan!

Lillian Hunt always suspected that she might be different, living in a small town in Pennsylvania, working at her grandparents store, she tried to live the life she always has, but the dreams are to real, these feeling's that something isn't right are to real.
Little did Lillian know that her whole life is about to change and soon enough she finally finds out who's she's always been, and what she's made to do....

Seers of Light is a wonderful book and I was blown away by it's paranormal concept. Jennifer put together a well crafted element that was simply fascinating. I don't want to say to much, since I want others to unfold the secrets to this book and enjoy it as much as I did, but I will say that I thought this was a very cleaver and unique look into a bright new world.

Jennifer DeLucy writes a riveting and gripping tale, pulling me in with a cold tingle down my spine from the very first chapter. This is very dialog driven, which I love since I like a healthy amount of interactions with the characters, providing more entertainment and insight.
All the characters were great, including the secondary ones. Lillian is so sweet, funny, and her gifts wondrous. I can't say that I liked how she treated William in the beginning, but hey, it all worked out later so it's all good;)
The boys, Christian and William are both amazing guys. Christian, the knight, always so protective, even if misguided at times. William the tortured soul who knows how to push all the right buttons.
I can't seem to pick who I love more, so I wont, and love them both.
The romance is very sweet and very gush-worthy. There were a few scenes that left a goofy grin plastered on my face.

Overall, Seers of light is simply a gorgeous paranormal romance. You can tell a lot of heart and soul went into this world and I look forward to reading the sequel!

A Wonderful debut!

This is my favorite book I've read ALL YEAR! IMHO, Seers of Light even beat out Mockingjay. I know it's a shocker! Hmm . . . what can I say about this book without giving away the juicy details you should be reading yourself?

Jennifer has created several characters that just came to life on the pages. It was an amazing thing to see, and I must admit there isn't one person in the entire book that didn't make some sort of impression on me. My soul has been changed by this masterpiece. The dialog was alluring, the storyline divine, and the romance delicious. The whole concept of the book was very original and not like anything I've read.

William's character is dynamic and tempting. Literally . . . I was tempted to take the book to bed and sleep with it because I was so in love with his character. Yes, Jennifer, I cuddled and snuggled with your book. And honestly? I'm completely jealous of Lillian. How about we rename Lillian to Laura. It's kinda close, right?

Anyway, if you've gotten through my horrible review (I never said I was good at writing these things. I'm an author, not a reviewer . . .) then I suggest you go and buy this book now! Right now! Support this brilliant author. And remember: Whispers of Light (Seers, #2) is coming out in a few days and it's time for Christian to get his, right? ::wink, wink::

Love, love, love.

Team William! Heh.

I adored this book, and plan to reccommend it to everyone I know.

Part romance, epic of course, part treatise to life your life fully, she creates an amazing blend of the supernatural and reality. The characters are so real, I honestly miss them now that I am finished! I love that they are engaged in a spiritual world doing very out of the ordinary things and yet they are incredibly down to earth. Reading Lily's story, I felt like, Hey I could do that! (but maybe that's just me). Ha.

I am not doing this book justice, so I will conclude by saying, please read this book, it is swoony and gorgeous and smirky in all the right places.

My review in the short version:2 stars...one for the cover which is one of the most beautiful i have seen and one for William..

Long version...:)

At first i loved the story..for some tens of pages i was so hooked on the story that i couldn't read fast enough..then she meets Christian...and the downfall of my interest starts page by page..Ok i know it is fiction but she just goes with this stranger and forgets about her grandparents and job and friend and all the sudden she remembers them and oh she phones them and everything is great, and she hates the guts of her trainer just on the grounds of a promise and oh what a surprise he is such a handsome wounded soul and oh how original plot..it lost me.I have read similar love triangles but they dialogues kept my interest alive. Were it not for William i might haven't even finished the book...Sometimes the dialogues were beyond ridiculous..i was laughing just b/c i couldn't believe what i was reading..i was shocked and started skimming through the book...
Ok another major majooorrrr turn off was the time the made love...omg it's been a while a laughed so hard...Major!Omg again! Please, somebody shoot me!!!It was a parody of a love scene.!
And i didn't like this one time she talks with Kate, her friend and she says some really mean stuff to her and the other hungs up the phone and Lillian couldn't care less...What was the use of this phone call i still haven't understood.Just to fill some more pages??
I liked William ,except when he would say stuff like"i don't deserve you"and i wanted to puke for a change...i can't shoot myself twice:)

I can hardly describe how much I loved this book. What a beautiful love story!

The secondary characters were so wonderfully written. Anna's character brings such fun to the novel and that great girlfriend vibe that every chick needs.....someone she can pour her heart out to without fear of reprisal and someone to just laugh with. With all that was going on, Lily needed this more than the average girl. I absolutely loved Abram....he was very Dumbledore-esque, and felt like a grandfather substitute. Another thing Lily really needed as she missed her own grandparents a lot.

My favorite character of all in the novel was, of course, William. What a total package. He was so self-sacrificing, feeling unworthy of Lily and their love. I really fell in love with him very early on. Lily is drawn to him the second she sees him, which is explained so beautifully later on in the book. Their love was timeless and inevitable, no matter how hard Lily tried to hate him at first. I could gush on and on about William for hours.

Christian's character really disturbed me on many levels for the majority of the book. He was so overly clingy, demanding, bossy....but it wasn't really in the typical alpha male kind of way. He came off desperate and almost kind of creepy. I understand how he was feeling and where his issues stemmed from, and I tried to forgive his behavior, but until the end of the book, I couldn't bring myself to do it. I liked his letter to William at the end, and I'm interested to see where Ms. DeLucy takes his character now that he's gone off on his own. Can't wait for the next book!

Before I talk about the book, I have to give Jennifer major props for one of the best "pre sex" scenes I've ever read! Woa! I don't want to give away spoilers, but what "that man" can do - without touching a woman (excuse me while I catch my breath) is out of this world! *fans self so I don't pass out*

This is such a beautiful, deep, and touching book! I read it on a flight from CA to KY - and from KY back to CA, then when we landed in CA, I parked myself on a chair in the airport - refusing to leave until I'd finished the book! Thank goodness my husband was a good sport!

I'm so happy that there is a sequel to this book, and that it's first draft is finished! I can't wait to see what the sequel has in store for us! This is a must read!

To be honest, this book took me completely by surprise. I certainly wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did! Once I started the story, I couldn't put it down, even to attend my cousin's wedding. I was reading during the ceremony!!!

In Seers of Light, Ms. DeLucy illustrates a world that is ours, yet so different from anything we know. She awakens us to accept a world of new possibilities with dynamic characters that will leave their mark on you and leave you wanting to know more!

My head is still reeling from re-reading this book (yes I said re-reading) and so I'll write in as logical a fashion as I can! I promise not to ramble too badly.

Seers of Light is truly beautiful. Honestly if I could only describe it in one word, that would be it: beautiful. Jennifer has crafted a world where everything is completely different, and yet so enticing. Seers of Light is a story that will stay with you long after you turn the last page, and you will find yourself sighing at the fact that there is no more left to read.

Remember that I have said many times before that characters are my thing? If the characters are great, I am invested in the story. On that note, I find the need to applaud Jennifer for her character development of epic proportions! I loved EVERY character, down to the smallest supporting ones. The fact that I still remember Mrs. Bridget Cavanaugh who makes but a brief, albeit very memorable, visit into the story amazes me! Truly, the characters of Seers pop off the page with their unique personalities!

Interjection here to say that I adore Lily. She is the perfect example of a strong female protagonist and I am in awe of her. Pair that with interactions with sweet, stubborn Christian and deliciously snarky William and you have one amazing storyline! Able to make you laugh out loud at one point, and make your toes curl in delight at another? Jennifer, you are a masterful writer.

Emotion is also a very important piece of loving a book for me. Reading this story was emotionally exhausting in the best way possible. Bristling with anger and annoyance, tearing up at touching moments, feeling empathy in the highest degree, I never felt that there was a dull moment. In fact, I found myself wanting to read well past the bookmarks I had set for myself so that I wouldn't stay up too late! Reading past midnight although you know you have to be up early the next morning? That is a good story.

There are so many other things I could say about how amazing this book is! However then I would be rambling and you would probably all just shake your head and walk away. I do not exaggerate my friends when I say that this is one of my absolute new favorite books. After purchasing and reading this in e-book format, I now know that I must own a bound copy. Stat.

Give this a read! If you enjoy emotional roller coasters, love triangles, some of the deepest and most beautiful love imaginable...and the list goes on, you'll fall in love with this book too.

I heard about this book through the grape vine a few months ago and was excited to read it because everyone raved about it. Not so much. I actually really hated this stupid book at times. First of all, I thought the writing style sucked. I couldn't really figure out what was happening for the first part of the book. When I finally caught on, my reaction was "Wow, this is stupid." Don't get me wrong, stupid is fine sometimes. I'm all for a good chill book, but I found the whole premises of the book utterly pointless. The main character, Lily, wasn't very likable. Her only redeeming quiality was that her sarcasm got a chuckle out of me from time to time - which isn't saying much; I'm easily amused. Christian was annoying as all get out, and for some reason every time I saw WILLIAM typed out, I wanted to scream. Get a nickname!!!! Okay, that's a stupid little issue I have. But I wasn't really a William fan. I couldn't figure out what he saw in Lily, who was bein judgemental on completely unfounded information. *slap* When they finally got together, I was a little bit appeased, because the relationship was really sweet. However, then comes my other main issue. I am not one for raunchy novels (sorry to any pervs reading this that are). The sex was way too graphic for my taste. Sure, they did it; I don't need to know all the details. Also, the vampire thing is totally over played. I was glad that they were portrayed as actually evil, but it's still cliche. The best I can say about this book is that the cover is really pretty, and that counts for something.

Over all I'm generously giving 2-stars. Just not my cup of tea.

I didn't know if I wanted to do a legit review of this book. Afterall, I'm friends with the author and I don't want her sending certain Combatants after me, lol.

Actually, I can feel comfortable with doing a review because it is a very good story. Lillian Hunt was living an ordinary life in an ordinary Pennsylvania town. Yet, she feels different than the others. A fateful walk in the forest proves this. She is taken by a gentleman, Christian, who is part of secret organization who watches over supernatural activities.

She discovers talents she never thought she'd possess thanks to a certain young gentleman named William. From there,Lilly and her superfriends perform tasks to send lost souls on back to their homes.

There is a certain tension initially between Lilly and William and an ongoing tension between Christian and William. That's where I'll leave the plot as not to give it all away.

For a guy who reads scifi, horror, political thrillers, and westerns, I actually liked this story. It had a "Star Wars" feel with the mentor/teacher relationship in the beginning. Lilly discovers herself, so to speak. William, to me , is the most relatable, he's a character who rises above his circumstances.

The only two glaring minor faults are some of the dialogue feels stilted and the hateful tension Lilly has for William perhaps could have lasted a bit longer. All in all though, fantastic first effort by my friend...8/10

I thoroughly enjoyed Seers of Light. This was another book that I did not want to put down mostly because of the characters. Jennifer made Lily, William and Christian so loveable even though I didn’t fully trust William. I thought there was something fishy about him but I still loved him. The series reminded me of the TV series Supernatural and if you guys know me I LOVE Supernatural so Jennifer got brownie points for that.
The book is fast pace and has lots of action and romance. I wouldn’t suggest this novel to the younger reader as the sex scene in the book is so freakin’ hot (yes I am a bit embarrassed to be saying this and I’m sure if my bf read my blog he wouldn’t make fun of me for the rest of my life but it was.) It’s seriously an 18+ scene.
I was jumping the different “team trains” as the book went on one moment I would be on Team William and the next I would be on Team Christian. I really couldn’t decide which one of the lovely guys I liked more. So I determined I would take whomever Lily left behind but I’m not telling you who :P She could have left me both of em! MWAHAHA you will have to read the book to find out.

Oftentimes when reading a novel, others who have read it will say things like, "If you can just get through the first half, you'll love it." Not so with Seers of Light. From the very beginning of the book, I was pulled into the world that the author created.
The novel is well-written and keeps the reader interested throughout, evoking a range of emotions not experienced in many stories. Jennifer's charachters are multi-dimensional and you will find yourself picking a side, aligning yourself with a specific character throughout.
Unlike some authors, Ms DeLucy is not afraid of a good fight nor a good love scene. Additionally, some moments of the book will have the hairs on the back of your neck at full attention.
At the very root of this novel is a beautiful, timeless love. Additionally, you may just learn something about yourself from the author.

After a slow start, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the characters, especially William. Christian was a bit pouty and spoiled. He became annoying for a while. The story line was unique and I felt this team was a kind of justice league for the paranormal. I love that they work tirelessly to save humans from being turned into soulless vampires. The little twist that explains William's situation was unique and I loved it. I honestly can't wait to see what the next mission is for this unique group.

Ana's review for now until I read the book myself: This was such an amazing book!! I couldn’t put it down and I ended up reading it in 2 days!! It had everything a girl would want. It had sympaths, ghosts, spirits, demons, seers, mind readers and of course, vampires! The book is very well written and you will honestly fall in love with all the characters. I totally recommend this book.
Lily always knew she was different, but couldn't quite figure it out why. She always felt like something was missing in her life. She told herself that it was because her father had died of cancer when she was a little girl and her mother had disappeared when she was very little. It wasn't until one day she was attached by a vampire (obviously she didn't know it was a vampire) and was saved by a gorgeous British man named Christian that she would soon find out why she always felt that way. Christian then tells her that she’s not safe anymore and that her life was in danger and that she needs to go with him to Atlanta and speak to Abram and that he would explain everything to her. Once they get there, she is greeted by the most kind-hearted and corky people ever. Confused and overwhelmed about everything, she is very eager to speak with Abram. Abram tells her that she is a Pathcrosser and a Sympah and that’s why all her life she has felt different and out of place. He explains to her about their world and the reason for their existence. Abram tells Lily that William (which by the way, I am totally in love with.) is going to be her instructor and that he is going to teach her how to use her powers and how to defend herself. Right away Christian feeling protective over Lily tells her to stay away from William because William is part vampire, but she doesn't understand why she is so drawn to him even if he is supposed to be one of the bad guys. I don’t want to give away any more of the story because I don’t want to ruin it for you, but I will say that this has to be one of the best books I have ever read. The love between William and Lily is something so strong and special it will make your heart melt. Needless to say, I TOTALLY recommend this book.

I had known of Seers of Light a long time before I actually got a chance to read it, even being a member of the discussion group here on Goodreads, but studiously avoiding it in the fear of happening upon a spoiler or two. In a way I am glad that I was forced to put off reading the book this long as it was so enjoyable that I wish I could unread it and read it again.
Jennifer DeLucy has created a fantasy world which parallels if not overcomes the ability of other authors writing the same genre. The amount of detail given to the supernatural elements of this novel was astounding and yet did not overwhelm me.
The protagonist, Lily Hunt, is a strong-willed and spirited 28 year old female. She is thrust into a world of Seers, Sentients, Combatants, Dark astrals and vampires. We begin to learn of her destiny and we come to understand everything that her new world has to offer. As she learns, we learn. DeLucy does a wonderful job at revealing certain histories and lore as we progress through the story. We are in a sense exactly where Lily is, we have a huge array of questions just as Lily does and brilliantly (albeit frustratingly) not all are answered by the end of this first installment to the Light series.
Lily is unlike many of the female protagonists in recent additions to the paranormal romance genre. She has character, she makes mistakes, she has a hilarious sense of wit, she is strong yet she often lets her nerves get the better of her, she is not simpering yet her love is perhaps the most beautiful thing about this book. She is exactly the kind of female protagonist that I have been searching for in a romance novel. DeLucy does her gender proud.
The pacing of the novel was absolutely perfect in that the love scenes were balanced well with the battle scenes, the supernatural elements were blanced well with everyday mundane activities.
DeLucy's talent ranges from visual poetry to laugh out loud comedy to nail-biting suspense. This book is a MUST for all paranormal romance fans. It promises and it delivers tenfold. I cannot say enought good things about it.

Warning: Despite being labeled as YA, the book contains sex scenes and some foul language.

Seers od Light is just a bunch of dialogues, some of them good even sexy, other ones stupid, but what's the problem is that there are too many of them. They could be refreshing if peppered throughout the story, but unfortunately Jennifer DeLucy dumped in tons of them and I couldn't enjoy that. Also there are lots of infodumping dialogues, because the main rule is tell not show, isn't it?

Furthermore, when I picked this book up I expected a good fantasy book with a little romance. What I got instead is a bad romance book with a little fantasy and almost nonexistent action.

The dialogues were similar to this:

"Hi."
"Oh, hello, darling, how are you?"
"Just fine," I avoided his eyes.
"Really?"
"Really."
"I don't think so. Hey, did you just flipped me a bird?" he chuckled.
"Absolutely not."
"I saw it."
"Did you?"
"Yep, come here, sweetheart," he kissed me passionately and I was immediately hot all over.
"I love you."
"I know that," he smiled and kissed me again.

I made this up myself and well if you like it and don't mind that 3/5 of the book is written like this then go for it.

A huge THANK YOU to AToMR Blog Tours for allowing me to read and review this book series for the tour. I have to say that I have only read one other Seer book and I LOVED IT just like I LOVED this series. Man I could not get enough of this world that Jennifer has created. I had to put the book down while I was shopping and every minute I had I would read a few pages and then continue on shopping like no ones business.

Lily has always known she is different but she can't quite figure it out. That is until she has a very vivid dream. In this dream she meets Christian who tells her she is in danger and needs to learn how to protect herself. As she struggles to find what her calling is she will have to learn to trust others. Along the way she meets William whom Christian does not like because William is a Vampire. Christians job is to protect he and teach her how to protect herself.

Interesting take on psychic abilities, spirits, reincarnation, and... vampires. If William Maddox had been anything like Edward Cullen, I would have dropped this book like a hot potato. What makes it an enjoyable read in spite of the main character (Lillian Hunt) being in love with a vampire (albeit one with a soul) is the fact that whenever she doubts her strength and abilities, he goes out of his way to help her find more independence... even if it means getting pummeled by her formidable powers himself.

The author stated in a recent blog interview that she had a fondness for strong heroines; Lily Hunt does not disappoint! I did wonder for a while whether Christian Wright, a Sentient with powers that are more "physical" than emotional who has what could be described as anger management issues, would get his way (and get into her... *ahem*... heart) by convincing Lily that William was more of a monster than a person. Her initial suspicions were understandable, and built up a good deal of delicious tension.

I now have a love/hate thing with Christian Wright, which of course leaves me anxious to start reading the second book. As for William David Maddox... he's my new favorite ensouled vampire. Angel, Spike... sorry boys. See you in the next life.

have to give the cover to this book some love! I really like it. It looks ominous and mysterious. I couldn't wait to dive into this book. I first discovered this book on Good reads and after reading the summary I put this book on my TBR list. When I received it in the mail I was thrilled! The first few chapters gave me chills. Jennifer has created a fantastic story. I didn't want to put the book down until I finished it. The story line focuses on Lillian Hunt. She has supernatural abilities that lie untapped until she is saved by Christian, who was sent by others who share the same powers as Lillian. They want to help her understand and use her powers against their enemies, vampires. I loved Lillian's character. She is vulnerable yet spunky! There is also a love triangle between William, Christian and Lillian. One word : Hot. This story was good from beginning to end. It's full of action, adventure, and things that go bump in the night. If this book is on your TBR list you need to move it to the top. If you haven't added it yet: DO IT. This week the next book in the Light Series comes out: Whisper of Light. I for one can't wait to read it.

Ooohh .. what can I say .. hmm ..

FANTASTIC !
I love Lily and William so much that my heart aches for both of them. They're the perfect couple. The book had me believing in whole DESTINY, and FATE issues.

The best thing about this novel are:

I love Lily's personality. She's sort of punk and sweet at the same time.

William! He's the very best thing here! I love him so so much. I like how he pretend to be kinda aloof and detached to his surrounding, but when he's with Lily, he turns mellow and he's not ashamed in telling his feelings to her. He's not a jerk, which is thank God! I had enough of that. and the most important part, I could see how much he loves Lily.

The jock in the group, Christian. He's so adorable... He makes me squirmed with delight whenever he tries to become protective with Lily. Although he's a total jerk sometimes, who could blame him. He's still sweet and lovable at the same time.

All of the minor characters are so easily loved. They're personality and attitudes, especially Ana and her girlfriend are so sweet.

Hope you'll read this. It's worth every money and time you had.

I can't believe it took me so long to start reading Seers. I've had it in my TBR list for a while, and even owned it for a good bit of time before starting it. It is nothing short of amazing. Jennifer weaves an amazing tale that takes you through Lillian Hunt's journey to her new life.

Lily always felt as if somewhere were missing, little did she know, seeing ghosts was actually normal for her "kind". She has an awesome, supporting group of friends that assist her during her transition. There are twists and turns that left me second guessing my initial thoughts.

I love what Ms. DeLucy did with her vampires and lore of the other supernatural aspects of the novel. I'm excited that this will be a series, I need more... now. This one kept my glued to it like no other paranormal book has in a while. I'm happy to recommend it to everyone I know that loves this genre. Amazing read!

'Seers of Light' is a wonderfully charming novel about a young woman who is taken from her normal life and is suddenly brought into a world that she always thought may have existed, but never had proof. Now she's trying to avoid being killed while figuring out who she really is and what she's capable of - not to mention the two guys who are willing to die in order to protect her.

I thought that this story was very well written and had a great flow. I found myself intrigued from the very beginning of the story and couldn't stop reading until the last sentence. The setting that the book is set in was a perfect choice for the story - it added the right amount of fantasy and supernatural aspects to make the story feel more ominous and magical. The characters were interesting and had many facets to them, which I found made me more involved in the novel and eager to see their outcomes.

This was a great first novel in the series and will have readers eagerly coming back for the next book in the series.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This story blew me away. I was creeped out and at the same time I didn't want it to end. There was also an unexpected love story thrown into the mix. The characters were captivating. I could see this story playing out like a movie, which is always a good thing when it comes to the books I read. The writing style was fantastic and not overly childish like many books of this genre can do. I would like to have seen a little bit more polish in the editing, it seemed that some things were chopped of in places, but over-all I really can't complain. As far as the plot goes, I'm glad that there was a new twist on the age old vampire story. Dark and twisty! Yes, there were times when it got a bit steamy, but I really don't think that it was too distracting. A perfect blend of romance, violence, sex, love, adventure, and mystery!

Despite the way way way to tear-prone protagonist, and the other guy who cries way too much for little things, I enjoyed this book. It has good action, great (although at times, it drips with that ewwww to sweet in the sticky gross way) romance, self discovery, and pace. Despite the negative like, the people cry too much over any little thing (though supposedly it's because she's an empath and therefore people feel more emotional around her), and sometimes the romance was way over the top cheesy that makes you roll your eyes because in reality people hardly ever speak like that (specially guys). The beginning started out rocky, but I'm glad I stuck around. Like I said, despite the bad it was good and I find myself not wanting to give it 3 stars because the story was solid.

I don't know why it took me so long to read this brilliant book. I had bought it months ago, and when I finally started reading it, I was immediately swept away into the story. Jennifer DeLucy created a unique paranormal romance where there is mystery, suspense and adventure. At the heart of it all is a journey of self-discovery for the main character. Lily finds out what she is and what she is meant to do in life. There are both funny and creepy moments throughout the story. The budding romance is just delicious! All I'm gonna say is that I want to ask Lily if I can borrow a certain Mr. Maddox for a “soul merge”. :)
