Imagine living in a world where Love is a disease called Deliria. Imagine having a procedure that will cure before the Deliria take control of you. Imagine not being able to love, at all. That is the world that Lauren Oliver has created in her fascinating book, Delirium.
In the beginning of the book we meet Lena, who is a very headstrong young lady. Life definitely has not been easy for Lena. She has believed all her life that love is something to be terrified of, and that it can kill you if you ...more

I think I can pretty much say that I adore Lauren Oliver’s writing. First, Before I Fall and now Delirium. I need to read the sequel like yesterday. To me, Oliver has a very poetic style of writing. I don’t know if that’s the right word, but it flows so well and it is somewhat elegant. Plus, both of her books that I have read were emotionally heavy. They sat with me for a very long time.
I also enjoy that Oliver really tries to have all of her characters have flaws. It can get kind of tiring read ...more

So if you would have asked me yesterday what I would rate this book more than half way in, I would have said three stars, but holy cow the last 50 pages bring my rating up to a four. I can't wait to see what future awaits Lena. Will she ever see Alex again? Will she find her mom in the wilds. Should be exciting to find out!

Delirium was a fascinating story , about the gripping effects of love . Lauren Oliver painted a wonderful picture of how love can truly be viewed as a virus or sickness. There isn't a person in the world that hasn't witnessed the power of love whether it be the touch of love or the lack there of, either way it can be crippling. In the book, Lena learns just what that feeling of love is like , she also learns that perhaps love is the one thing that can't ever truly be taken from her . The choice

I'm not sure why it took so long for me to start this story, but I'm glad I was finally able to read it. This book had such a great concept about love and the author did a wonderful job on building a world where love is a disease. Although it was a little slow in the beginning, it started to pick up and I could not stop reading. Towards the end of the book my heart was racing until the very last page. I would definietly recommend this book and I can not wait until the sequel comes out!

I've heard about Delirium from a good friend who edits my manuscripts for me. She told me about this book and gave it 4 stars. I tried not to read anything she had written about it.
What I did like? I liked that Alex was probably biracial and was hopeful. He liked Lena, despite her distance from him. I liked the futuristic view of Portland, Maine, overall. Sorry this review is so short, I'm bit overloaded at work right now.
