So if you would have asked me yesterday what I would rate this book more than half way in, I would have said three stars, but holy cow the last 50 pages bring my rating up to a four. I can't wait to see what future awaits Lena. Will she ever see Alex again? Will she find her mom in the wilds. Should be exciting to find out! ...more

Delirium was a fascinating story , about the gripping effects of love . Lauren Oliver painted a wonderful picture of how love can truly be viewed as a virus or sickness. There isn't a person in the world that hasn't witnessed the power of love whether it be the touch of love or the lack there of, either way it can be crippling. I'm not sure why it took so long for me to start this story, but I'm glad I was finally able to read it. This book had such a great concept about love and the author did a wonderful job on building a world where love is a disease. Although it was a little slow in the beginning, it started to pick up and I could not stop reading. Towards the end of the book my heart was racing until the very last page. I would definietly recommend this book and I can not wait until the sequel comes out! ...more

I've heard about Delirium from a good friend who edits my manuscripts for me. She told me about this book and gave it 4 stars. I tried not to read anything she had written about it.

What I did like? I liked that Alex was probably biracial and was hopeful. He liked Lena, despite her distance from him. I liked the futuristic view of Portland, Maine, overall. Sorry this review is so short, I'm bit overloaded at work right now.

Cross Hunger Games with Uglies, and you get Delirium. :) Only prevented from getting 5 stars from me by the vast amounts of exposition required up front to get things going.

Lauren is by far one of the best authors in YA! (and any genre.) This is an amazing book that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time! (especially the ending!!!)
